Esurance

Esurance was founded in 1998 and started writing auto insurance policies in December 1999. They offers home, auto, motorcycle, renters, and life/health insurance, and strive to have the lowest prices available by comparing themselves to other insurance companies. Because they are an online company, their agents are available 24 hours 7 days a week.

They offer an online Learning Center where customers can get answers to frequently asked questions and glossary of terms in “plain English” so that those terms can be understood by everyone.

They also claim to be more environmentally friendly than other insurance companies because all their documents are available online and they communicate with their customers by e-mail which supposedly saves over 2,000 trees a year. They also occasionally partners with sports and other organizations to “go green” by giving away reusable bags. Esurance spokesperson, an animated pink haired private investigator named Erin, drives a green vehicle in their commercials.

As a company, it has a two star customer rating and mixed reviews.
